If you’ve ever worked at a company with a dedicated IT service, you’ve probably seen someone work on your company PC from a remote location.. even if it was only from another building. ‘Remote Access’ software is offered by many companies, I happen to think ‘Teamviewer’ is one of the better ones, so today we will be looking at how to Install the Teamviewer program.
First you will need to Download Teamviewer by clicking on this link;
Download Teamviewer (opens in a new window).
You will come to a screen that looks like this.. press on the Green Button, indicated by the red-arrow below;
You will then see the next screen (below) appear. If, for some reason you do not see your download begin after about 20 seconds.. only then press on the link that says, “No download?… .. ‘click here’.” But first check the lower-left corner of the screen (with Chrome browser) or the upper-right yellow bar (Internet Explorer) to click on the ‘Download this File’ or ‘Save’ prompt.
Teamviewer is a very small program. After it downloads you may see a prompt that says, ‘Run’. If so, click that to begin the 2nd phase which is the Installation of Teamviewer. If you do not see the ‘Run’ button.. go to your Downloads folder of your PC and double-click the program titled; “Teamviewer_Setup“. You should then see the following screen (below). Select the button that says, “Install”, and then the ‘Next >’ button..
If you have Win7 or Vista.. you may see the following screen. If so, select ‘Yes’..
You should now see the this screen (below).. select “Personal/Non-commercial Use”, and then click ‘Next >’.
In the next screen, be sure to click a check-mark in BOTH BOXES. Then the ‘Next >’ button will become available to click..
At the following screen (below).. select ‘No (default)’ and then click the ‘Next >’ button.
You will begin to see the program install. Wait for the green progress bar to complete several times..
When you see the screen below.. Teamviewer is now installed! Success!! “Your ID” will always remain the same. However, to protect your PC.. the ‘Password’ will automatically change every time you re-start Teamviewer or re-boot your PC. No one can gain Remote Access unless you either text, email or phone the new, latest ‘Password’ code to them shown in the blue ‘Password’ area;
When you shut down Teamviewer, you will see the following screen. Simply click on the red ‘X’ in the upper-right corner to close this screen.
And that is it! Now you can use Teamviewer for Remote Access to permit an IT Tech to safely work on your PC. Everything the Tech sees is exactly as you see it on the screen, making it easy for you to monitor their work. I hope you find this useful.. enjoy!!
